In August, 2010, Ford announced its plans to introduce a hybrid model with four “mini-trucks” from the F-150 series using a rear spoiler.
With the addition of the new ’88 car, Ford also unveiled a new, optional rear spoiler, and introduced the P7-8T model, which it says is a hybrid version of the car. Ford also announced that a new, standard rear spoiler would be launched by its next-generation Ford Fusion.
The P7-8T concept was developed with the help of Ferrari’s engineering team on a limited-edition GT. The P7-8T concept was the first Ford Fusion to be mounted on a non-interactive roof with the design inspired by other Toyota hybrids.
By March, 2012, production of the ’88 Ford Fusion and its ’86 Fusion Hybrid variants, however, had ended. The ’88s production line had a total of 1,934 cars in production, so production at these numbers was limited to one production and one sale at the Ford dealership.
