October 11, 2009 – The Waverly County Building Board approved a $1.5 million bond to restore the A&P Building at 1639 S. Waverly St., and replace most structural fixtures.

June 30, 2009 – The construction company will begin an environmental work project at the new building, with a completion date expected in late June. The construction company’s $1.5 million project will replace about 11,000 square feet of existing construction. Additional costs are expected to be covered by the $300,000 annual project cost sharing agreement for each additional unit. In addition, the New York State Historical Society anticipates costs of construction for additional 1,000 square feet of retail space to be covered by the $300,000 project cost sharing agreement.
